Is this a rigger belt?

Print E-mail

The D-Belt owes its origin to rigger belts but we do not condone using the belt as a safety device.  Rigger belts are typically built for clipping in.  The D-Belt, while extraordinarily strong, is not designed for rapelling, belaying, or diving out of windows to escape from burning buildings.

(Actually, anyone that tells you a belt is made for evac purposes hasn't rapelled much.  Our backs hurt just thinking about rapelling with only a waistbelt.  Ouch...)

The D-Belt is made for vertical stiffness while maintaining comfortable daily wear.  It is designed for holding tactical gear, hunting wear, holding your holster (cell phone, leatherman, pistol, or other) and of course holding up your pants.

Like all things purchased, you should consider your intended use.  If you plan on wearing this belt for what we designed it for, it's beyond great.  If you typically have rope with you, ready to bail out of multi-storybuildings - you might want an actual climbing harness rather than a belt of any type.
