The entire item is an all-steel assembly.  In all of our testing, we have never had a ring fail.  That includes contractors in Iraq beating them up in the field.  Plus, we hand inspect and assemble each one, Loctite the assembly with the highest grade of Loctite made, and the ring is keyed to prevent any twisting.

It's one tough mother.

If you ever manage to break one we'll replace it.
