Used at the 2013 FTR World Championship matches, helping the USA FTR Shooting Team to win their second Championship. CROSSTAC is now a proud sponsor of the USA FTR Shooting Team and excited to help outfit them in their quest for a third consecutive World Championship in 2017!
Unlike roll up mats with edges that constantly curl up when you deploy, our mat folds, unfolds and deploys flat instantly. It also stores flat... nicely sliding behind the seat of pickup, in your closet, on a shelf, etc. Superior quality foam rated to -75F so it wont crack, plus it's the perfect thickness & density for both comfort and stability. Perhaps the best feature: our unique, heavy duty bipod rail system will help give you more precision every time you squeeze off a round.

So I got a chance to take this mat out in the field last week. I was very impressed, there is no doubt in my mind that this mat will last for years. I shoot on farm fields the ground has tons of sharp stalks sticking out of the ground it and I was concerned that it might get punctured. No issues not even a scratch, the field was also wet and muddy but the mat stayed dry and kept me dry. I also found it to have the right amount of padding and to be the perfect width for my large frame, 6'4 290 pounds, it was very comfortable
Now the one downside, which I have learned to accept as a fact of life, I am too darn tall, like all things in life it seems the mat is just a bit short for my torso. In order to use the bipod ridge, my knees wind up off the mat and in the mud. What I wound up doing was not using the ridge and planting the bipod in front of the mat and all was well.
CROSSTAC: Thanks Morris! The mat is huge at 79" long and it's meant to have your feet off the back. This is so you can push forward and load your bipod. If you are off the back too far for the day's conditions, then yes just scoot forward - we've made our mat as long as practical while still being able to fold into a decent package.
Perfect except for handles

This mat is perfect aside from the minor change where they added the plastic handles(mentioned in other reviews, just cut them off lengthwise). The problem is they are dead center(one under your chest and one under your pelvis), its like someone added two rocks onto the mat.
Other than that its great.
CROSSTAC response: We agree. The handles are now gone. (If you have a mat with the vinyl handles, just cut the vinyl tube off and you will have web handles.)
best mat ever

Don't pass up on this mat because of the price. You get what you pay for. This mat has features that no other has. The bipod rib is brilliant. You won't be disappointed.
Great Shooting Mat

Owner of Crosstac very helpful. Answered all my questions. Mat is plenty wide and long so your not hanging off. Bar up front works well for loading your bipod. Looks and feels like it will last for awhile. Overall very happy with product.

All most Perfect for me

I am using this mat for F-TR shooting. My bipod has skis and rest on a plastic cutting board. the recoil is pushing me back on the mat I could use some rubberized inner sections. Note from Crosstac: Great that you are shooting F/TR !! We actually sponsor the F/TR USA Shooting Team and they use this exact mat, great choice! We purposely leave rubberized materials off the mat. It is ridiculously hot in the summer months, as it absorbs too much heat. We would suggest not expecting plastic cutting board to grip on fabric - that's not a good combo. - Bret
Just what I wanted

best design and materials for shooters mat
Posted by jon pilgrim on 9th Feb 2015
The materials and design make this shooting mat make it one of the best. The fact that it's also made in the U.S. also means that it was made with pride in the craftsmenship. It will last many years of hard use. It is worth the price. My only suggestion is to make the handles out of heavyweight nylon instead of plastic
