You can mount a light or grip on a shorty without taking up space on the forearm. This is a really clean way to do this on short AR uppers - see the pic of a 7" upper with a vertical grip in the gallery below.

Sling Mounting Options

This preserves all of your sling mounting options, and adds some new ones.  If you combine this rail with our ASC (Ambi Sling Connector) and use HK style hooks on your sling, you have a single point to two-point convertible sling.  See the pictures here and with the ASC, or call us for more info.  Here are the main choices for the AR-15 Front Sight Picatinny Rail:

• Option 1:
  You can remount the original stock swivel with the rail in place if you want to...we did this just because we knew someone out there liked the original AR swivel


• Option 2:
  Thread in a swivel stud in the threaded side holes.  Use whatever side you prefer to use - then just use any QD swivel.


• Option 3:
  For only $15 have us mount one of our big rings from our ASC into it for you.  The Big Ring will take any sling connector.  Specify left or right side from the shooter's perspective.  Shown with Big Ring mounted on left side.  Note this is a permanent modification, and provides an extremely strong mount point!

Super solid and secure:
Slides into place firmly over the bayonet lug and holds the lug fully captive in the CNC machined pocket.  Pins in place using the stock AR pin location (new pin included).  Super tough, you will not have this come off in the field.  Rail measures 3.5" long.  Solid 6061 aluminum, CNC machined, bead blasted, anodized matte black.  Back of rail is flush with a stock front sight.  100% Made in USA.
