Product Overview

Frustrated by the tiny little buttons on your MDT / Ckyepod locking up and ripping at your fingernails?  Would you like to be able to instantly change the angle and height?   Equally tired of the tensioner working loose?

The solution is simple - get our MDT / Ckyepod upgrade kit.

Features big oversize stainless steel CNC machined buttons that give you much more leverage - so the bipod swivels much easier.  Our buttons are large enough to use with gloves on.  Also included is our tensioner replacement.  Engineered to never work loose, no matter how much you move the rifle - it won't loosen so the tension won't change.  Set it to swivel light or heavy, it stays that way.

Kit includes replacement shaft with precision thrust bearing setup, adjustable handle, two replacement CNC machined oversized knobs for super fast adjustments.

INSTALLATION

Important: there are several versions of the locking rod for this bipod that we know of.  Our kit ships with the spacers and rods necessary.  You do need to use the right setup order: washer on each side of the bearing, then a thin or thick spacer, then the handle.  The handle should bottom out on the bearing, not on the threads inside the bipod.  See the pictures of one example setup.  Simply make the setup the same length as your old threaded rod.  Some of the bipods (usually the 3-piece) will need the long rod.  The regular rod fits most.  Any questions just call us and we'll walk you through it.

Setup Rod Lengths Regular Rod Long Rod
Washers and Bearing (always) 2.40" 2.90"
Add small spacer 2.14" 2.64"
Add large spacer 2.04" 2.54"
Add both spacers 1.79" 2.29"
*Dimensions may vary slightly due to threaded rod vendors*

IMPORTANT - KNOB INSTALLATION

First unscrew the old knobs, and thread ours in.  Please look to see they are fully bottomed.  If they bottom out early and the shoulder of the knob is unsupported the knob can be bent at the thread relief groove.  There are bipod models where the threaded holes are not as deep as others.  If this is yours, you will need to file a small amount of the threaded shaft off our knobs, usually about .050" for some bipods.  Once you are sure the knob is bottoming on the shoulder tighten it very lightly since there isn't any twisting force as you use them.  So just "snug" is enough - if in doubt do not overtighten.  The part inside the bipod is brass (at the time of this writing).  It is soft vs the stainless steel knobs.
